This establishes methods to measure the performance, quality, and durability of televisions (TVs) for use in off-grid applications (e.g. standalone solar home system, mini-grid).
The following test conditions are defined for the evaluation of product suitability for use in off-grid applications:
Nominal conditions;
Voltage fluctuation conditions, which simulate performance during over-voltage and under-
voltage conditions.
Harsh environment exposure conditions, which simulate exposure to high temperature and humidity environments. Procedures are adopted from IEC 60068-2-78: Environmental testing - Part 2-78: Tests - Test Cab: Damp heat, steady state (2012).

• Include an On/Off switch AND adequate instruction as to its use AND have a standby mode power consumption not exceeding 0.5W when measured at 12V DC in accordance with the Global LEAP Off-grid TV Test Method;
• Not include an On/Off switch AND have a standby mode power consumption not exceeding 0.1W when measured at 12V DC in accordance with the Global LEAP Off-grid TV Test Method.
• Receive NTSC and PAL signals at and above -50 dBm;
  • Be available with an analog or analog/digital tuner;
  • Include a minimum two year manufacturer warranty to cover parts and workmanship defects,
  serviceable in Bangladesh;
  • Pass all safety, workmanship, durability, and environmental test protocols in accordance with the
  Global LEAP Off-grid TV Test Method; and
  • Not exceed RoHS specifications for the following six (6) toxic substances: Lead (Pb); Mercury
  (Hg); Cadmium (Cd); Hexavalent Chromium (Cr Vl); Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB); Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE).
